Περίληψη:The objective of this investigation is to propose the design of a treatment system for wastewater collected by the hydrosuccionador which are taken from septic tanks and drains of the Guaranda town and its surroundings, carried out by the Municipal Public Water and Sewerage Company of Guaranda (EP-EMAPA-G) for which the residual water was characterized during 5 months and treatability tests were carried out opting for an activated sludge system. The percentages of removal in the pilot plant for the DBO5, DQO, oils and fats, total suspended solids and fecal coliform contaminants were: 99.27%, 99.24%, 78.81%, 97.50%, 99.98 %, respectively. Demonstrating that this treatment significantly reduces the contaminants found, complying with the regulations laid down in Ministerial Agreement 097 A. Subsequently, the treatment system was sized, comprising: 3 m long inlet channel, a 35 grit slab, tank storage (13.3 m3), grease trap (5.5 m3), biological reactor (33 m3), settler (26.6 m3), anthracite filter (3.7 m3), chlorine chamber (0, 30 m3) and drying bed (7.5 m3), the sludge was also analyzed, which due to its high content of organic matter is proposed to be reused as fertilizer for its own facilities.
