সংক্ষিপ্ত:Riobamba city in recent times has presented an evident population growth, generating one of the problems discussed in this research; vehicular congestion is one of the incident factors that influence in the operation of the mobility of a city. To get the information was applied surveys, data sheets that show characteristics of streets in the analyzed area and a count of volume of vehicles that move during a critical time for sector analysis taking into account the twists that made and the sense in which circulate to post this-enter this information in the SYNCHRO 8 software demo. The results were as follows: the bus station has 5 pedestrian accesses that daily there are a considerable number of users, which according to surveys carried out at point of analysis a 19.64% move stepped through the area. 12.88% of the persons to whom the survey was used, a 41.10% approximately in favor of public transport in internal displacement in the central sector of the city, while demand of private vehicles is 26.38% which are mobilized in this way. To solve the congestion problem that was identified in the circle of the bus station the idea of replacing it by another means is apparently effective as an underpass is proposed which is to optimize traffic flow while improving the level of service the intersection providing the solution presented in the sector. Results from the demo SYNCHRO 8 performing the simulation of the current situation qualifies the intersection with a level of service type H, and while applying the proposal does not indicate a reduced level of service to type C type H and the volumes have reduced so that the efficiency of the intersection has improved and being a viable alternative is the most appropriate
