| סיכום: | This study set out to determine whether a twelve-week plyometric training program could enhance leg power in 20 male U-18 footballers from Centro Deportivo Olmedo in Riobamba. An experimental design was used to assess the players both before and after the program and identify any changes. The protocol comprised two weekly sessions, progressing from 80 to 120 contacts and incorporating multidirectional drills. Lower-limb power was measured through countermovement-jump (CMJ) height and the Reactive Strength Index, both recorded with the My Jump 2 app. The data met normality assumptions (Shapiro–Wilk, p > 0.05); the paired-sample t-test revealed a significant difference (t = –5.84; p = 0.00), with a mean increase of +0.52 cm (≈ 8.5 %). Thirteen players improved between 0.6 cm and 1.2 cm, while the proportion classified as “Excellent” or “Very good” rose from 0 % to 25 %. No training-related injuries were reported, and adherence exceeded 95 %. These findings confirm that a moderate plyometric load, integrated into the competitive micro-cycle, boosts explosiveness and narrows internal performance gaps. Quarterly monitoring and individually adjusted loads are recommended to maximize long-term adaptations. |
