Περιγραφή
Περίληψη:ABSTRACT: Doll Therapy (DT), or therapy with dolls, is a new model of therapeutic intervention complementary to pharmacological treatment. It proposes an interaction system to counteract the negative impact caused by certain mental disorders such as dementia. Scientific studies indicate that this treatment can progressively achieve cognitive benefits because it promotes and stimulates attention and concentration, allowing the patient to be alert to perform daily life tasks, such as dressing, washing, combing hair, and caring for the body. Doll improves sensory perception through tactile stimulation through hugging and rocking and promoting speech and communication. Therefore, it is considered one of the most beneficial complementary therapies for mental pathologies in older adults. However, it is still under investigation, as there are few studies related to its use. A bibliographic review entitled Doll Therapy in the Cognitive Stimulation of Older Adults with dementia was carried out. The main objective is to publicize TD and its impact on the cognitive stimulation of older adults, improving their behavior, reasoning, and emotional state. In the methodology, 65 sources of information were selected, of which 46 were destined for analysis through the triangulation of studies from scientific bases such as Elsevier, Scielo, Redalyc, Pubmed, linked by the Google academic metasearch engine, official sources such as the Pan American Organization of Health and Ministry of Public Health of Ecuador, national and international organizations published between 2018 and 2023, culminating in the discussion of results.
