| Summary: | This study analyzes the importance of the role of children's literature in the development of self-esteem in Initial 2 at the “Benjamin Franklin” School. It is identified that there is a relationship between Children's Literature and Self-esteem, thus becoming a powerful tool that can help children know themselves, work on empathy, increase their confidence and strengthen their self-image depending on the genres they adapt to. To their needs or stage of development. A qualitative investigation was carried out with a sample of 21 children from Initial 2. Data collection techniques such as observation and interviews with their respective analysis were used for this process. The results demonstrated that children's literature has a positive impact on the development of self-esteem in the children who participated. In conclusion, it is obtained that children's literature is valuable, it can be used to promote the development of self-esteem and recommended to teachers for use more frequently in activities whether in the form of stories, dramatic play, among other genres of the same. In this way, it is believed that safe and positive learning can be achieved so that children can explore their emotions and feelings. |
