Тойм:ABSTRACT Puerperal infections rank third in morbidity and mortality in obstetric patients; It includes not only infections in the genital tract, but also extragenital and incidental diseases, by not being treated and controlled, predispose a more significant complication and even death; For this reason, nursing care for women with postpartum infections is of great importance. A documentary and systematic study were carried out to determine nursing care in the primary puerperal diseases by collecting information from several documents published in scientific bases: Scielo, Lilacs, Pubmed, Elsevier, ProQuest, Google Academic, Guides of clinical practices, and university repositories; disseminated between 2016 and 2021, of which 65 articles were taken for the bibliographic review; For the results of the research, first the coincidence of authors in terms of the most frequent puerperal infections was identified, later the clinical picture of the pathologies was analyzed, as well as their treatment, then the nursing care was investigated and finally the Authors' criteria with NIC interventions. The primary puerperal infections are: endometritis, wound infections (episiotomy and post-cesarean surgical incision), and mastitis; the most common care: monitoring of vital signs, administration of an analgesic, antipyretic and antibiotic medication, physical means for pain control, support emotional, patient and family education for the care of the discharge plan; and those specific as monitoring of the skin in nipples and wounds, assessment of vaginal discharge and characteristics of the lochia.
