Özet:ABSTRACT Adaptation to hospitalization is the way of adjusting to a new environment; however, in children, since they are considered a population that requires greater care; coping may be more complex and therefore requires focused attention according to age and level of development to avoid or reduce the impact of hospitalization and favor the recovery of physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being. The main objective of the current study was to determine adaptation criteria in pediatric patients facing hospitalization to subsequently propose nursing activities according to the NIC taxonomy. A documentary and descriptive research was conducted; by reviewing high impact databases such as: scielo, Medigraphic, Redalyc, Elsevier, Ocronos, health research journals, e-books, repositories, and official websites of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), published between the years 2017-2022, then, 52 documents were taken into accouunt. This helped to describe different aspects of the study such as: factors interfering in coping, illness, hospital stay, adaptation, emotional responses of children, parental reaction, hospital impact, adaptive care. After the analysis of the authors' criteria, nursing interventions that respond to each dimension and contribute to the improvement of the infant's adaptation were proposed. In conclusion, recognizing that the impact of hospitalization can leave short- and long-term sequelae, limit early recovery and even alter family relationships, it was essential to propose nursing activities according to the NIC taxonomy, which contribute to the process of adaptation of the pediatric patient to hospitalization.
