| סיכום: | The main objective of this research work is to determine the importance of domestic pets in favor of children's socioemotional development, for which it was based on relevant information and updated bibliographic sources. In addition, a mixed approach and a non-experimental design were applied; as field research, the participants were 22 children and 22 parents of the initial level 2 of the Educational Unit "Combatientes de Tapi," for which two survey questionnaires with closed items were elaborated and used. The results show that domestic pets have a great protagonism and positive impact on the lives of both children and adults. Therefore, it is concluded that this affective bond is beneficial at a physical, mental, and emotional level while improving the mood of the family environment in which the pet is included, being considered another member. Eventually, they motivate the infant to express themselves safely and confidently with other children or adults. In the same way, they can identify their own and others' emotions. Consequently, both children and parents know that this ownership promotes the acquisition of good habits, such as responsibility in their care, and values, such as respect, love, tolerance, or empathy towards another living being. All this unquestionably improves their socioemotional development and indicates how important pets are. |
