| সংক্ষিপ্ত: | The work seeks to determine if the handcrafted rugs of Guano are considered as a symbol of cultural identity within the canton, the application of Pierce's triad contains three elements, which in this case help to determine whether a piece or set of artistic or artisanal pieces they are sufficiently representative for a territory, that is, if they represent its cultural identity. The findings found indicate that most of the rugs made in Guano are handmade, which keeps the history and identity of the canton latent. Reason why the materials used for its manufacture are mostly threads, lamb's wool and guaipe, leaving aside the use of prefabricated wool. From another point of view, it has been discovered that carpet artisans prioritize weaving pre-Columbian designs, it follows that they consider it important to preserve the cultural elements that made up the indigenous peoples, before the European cultural influence. However, it is not ruled out that they weave works based on their own designs. The matrices were created based on the elements that make up the Pierce triad, with which it was determined that the Guano rugs are considered as a symbol that represents the cultural identity of the Guano community and its diversity, which is seen reflected in the shapes, figures, colors, edges, texture and materials used for its fabric. The population and sample was carried out through relevant informants, with whom it was possible to collect important information for our investigative work. The application of interviews to the artisans and merchants of these artisan works supports that cultural identity is maintained, due to the importance of recognizing and preserving the history of the territory for new generations. Coming to the conclusion that the handmade rugs of Guano are considered as a symbol of cultural identity within the canton. |
