| 要約: | Abstract: The aim of this study was to analyze academic stress and suicidal ideation in medicine students of ESPOCH in Riobamba, in the year 2022. The type of research was documentary and bibliographic, of cross - sectional design, with a descriptive level. The population consisted of data from 320 students of the medicine career, wich were provided by an anonymous database of ESPOCH and the sample was obtained through the statistical equation for population proportions, with a margin of error of 5% and a confidence level of 95% resulting in 176 data from students from fifth to tenth semester of the career. The psychological instruments used were: The Plutchik Suicide Risk Scale to determine the presence of suicidal ideation, and the SISCO 21 scale to measure the level of academic stress. The IBM SPSS 25.00 statistical program was used for data processing and analysis. Among the most relevant results, it was found that 52.3% of the students presented a moderate level of academic stress and 25.6% a severe level, and that 55.1% of the students presented suicidal ideation. It was also determined that at a higher the level of academic stress, a higher the probability of suicidal ideation. The data obtained in this research will be of utmost importance, since they will allow us to propose strategies to improve the mental health and general quality of life of university students. |
