| Resumo: | The present research project addresses the evaluation of the main fiber optic modulation systems based on the use of computational simulation tools. The computational tools to use are Matlab and the OptiSystem simulation package. Today the use of simulation software is the cornerstone in optical communications systems. Using software tools can generate very rich simulation experiences through which engineers can optimize the performance of the implemented system, thus improving the cost and efficiency of the service. From a pedagogical point of view, this degree project seeks to be an interesting alternative when it comes to accompanying the chair of optical communications with a virtual laboratory and in turn opening a new line of research in the optical communications part. In this way the student of engineering in Electronics and Telecommunications of the UNACH adds as complement to its formation a series of practical knowledge oriented to his professional life. Within the state of the art related to the theme of this project is presented a description of the computational tools to be used, Matlab and OptiSystem, giving a brief introduction to familiarize themselves with the simulators and their libraries. In the part of Results and discussions, through different practices, we analyze the main transmission parameters, the indexes of gradual and step refraction, and the dynamic parameters such as attenuation, dispersion and non-linear effects, eye diagrams, if all the characteristics that can be manipulated through OptiSystem by complementing it with Matlab. Finally, it presents the conclusions and recommendations obtained from each of the practices throughout this project titling. |
