| Izvleček: | In this study, the potable water consumption in the parish of Juan Montalvo, in the Canton of Cayambe, was analyzed to understand the consumption patterns in the area. This aimed to determine the residential hourly water consumption and obtain valuable data that would allow for better resource management. Key factors such as the socioeconomic status of the inhabitants, the number of residents per household, and the two distribution networks in the parish were considered. To achieve the objectives, a mixed methodology was applied, combining socioeconomic and service surveys, field data collection, and statistical analysis to obtain the results. These results were derived from a significant population sample, ensuring a high level of data reliability. The study found that the highest consumption peaks coincide with key moments in the population's daily routine, such as early morning, midday, and evening. Additionally, differences in water consumption among socioeconomic strata were identified. It was concluded that conducting a statistical analysis of water consumption for each sector is crucial, considering the different contexts of each population in the country. Likewise, it is recommended to implement strategies that improve water distribution and prevent unnecessary losses |
