Tratamiento informativo de los temas ambientales en los medios de comunicación impresos de la ciudad de Riobamba, periodo 2000 al 2010.

The purpose of this research work is to analyze the informative treatment of environmental content in the printed media of the city of Riobamba during the period 2000 to 2010. The results obtained are based on the opinions of experts on the subject, authors in environmental communication, experts in journalistic genres and content analysis, who provided their knowledge for the present work. Based on the analytical method, it was possible to reach a better observation of the object of study, the research is of a qualitative - quantitative type, because, characteristics in the contents of the environmental theme will be analyzed, so, the what is said, how it is said, and for what it is said of the contents of these print media in the city of Riobamba, specifically the newspaper Los Andes and La Prensa. It was possible to verify the existence of the contents in the municipal library of the city, which allowed the researcher the complete analysis of each one of these informative notes, interviews, columns, chronicles, etc. Starting from this analysis, it was possible to continue with the investigation and determine the content analysis matrix to use, also, experts in communication and environmental journalism were found, who contributed with their positions and benefited the results of this research work. Finally, the proposal of a content analysis matrix that can be used by future generations in the field of environmental journalism was made.
