| סיכום: | This research aimed to analyze the development of basic functions in first-year students of Basic General Education at the "PEDRO VICENTE MALDONADO" Educational Unit, Riobamba. Methodologically, this research had a quantitative approach, a nonexperimental design, a descriptive and propositional research level, a basic objective, a cross-sectional or transactional research time, and a bibliographic and field research location. The population consisted of first-year students of Basic General Education at the "Pedro Vicente Maldonado" Educational Unit, and the sample was an intentional nonprobabilistic sample of first-year students of parallel Basic General Education "A." The Basic Functions Test, designed to assess 16 areas of activity in children aged 5 to 8, was used (Ureña, 2023). The results show that the least developed areas of basic functions are temporal orientation, rhythm, memory, attention, and fatigue. Therefore, it was necessary to design psycho-pedagogical support strategies to strengthen these areas |
