Summary:In the Lean methodology of Construction Project Management, eight types of waste have been identified, one of which is the waste of human talent. A literature review reveals that this topic has been underexplored. This research aims to assess the extent of talent waste related to the emergence of problems and deficiencies in construction projects in Ecuador. The study employs a methodology that includes a documentary review and data collection through surveys administered to site managers and construction workers. The goal is to gain a deeper understanding of how talent is utilized within the Ecuadorian construction industry. Addressing talent waste is crucial for improving productivity, enhancing employee satisfaction and retention, stimulating innovation and learning, and promoting professional growth through practical task assignments. This study's findings will enhance talent management in Ecuador's construction industry by examining waste and its contributing factors. This will enable builders to evaluate their workers more effectively and identify potential instances of talent waste within their companies, as well as the primary causes associated with this phenomenon.
