Résumé:This research entitled "The verbal icon method in the development of creative communication in first-year children of the Carlos Cisneros Educational Unit, Riobamba canton, period 2020 - 2021" referring to the first variable is the verbal icon method, which speaks to us about interpretation of messages through images used for communication in this case of first-year children. In addition, if they cannot read, it is necessary to apply this method in the classroom, as a second variable we find creative communication, in this case, different activities are applied to teach the children to communicate through images or icons where they show messages or stories which they can interpret and share with people, it is focused on carrying out a quantitative research, with a bibliographic level and with a type of descriptive research, in the Torrance Test the creativity of each child could be evidenced through the activities applied icadas, in the observation sheet it was possible to observe the ability they have to tell their stories and at the time of presenting the iconic activity of the story it was evident that they liked this type of activities and thus creative communication was achieved throughout their social sphere. This research was applied to 15 first-year children, and as conclusion it can reveal with the application of the different instruments a fluid communication has been achieved through the iconic accompanied by the creativity, our children need more activities of this type. Therefore, they will be able to interact with everyone and even have a good development and uncomplicated unfolding in their next few years, thus letting us know that they have an enormous capacity to show all that creativity when drawing or creating their stories.
