| Summary: | ABSTRACT: Hemophilia is a coagulation disorder, its origin is genetic linked to the X chromosome, where coagulation factors VIII and IX are altered, depending on the altered factor it is known as hemophilia A and B. The prevalence of hemophilia A it is estimated to be 1 in 5,000 to 7,000 male live births, and hemophilia B is estimated to be 1 in 40,000 to 60,000 male births. This research was carried out under a descriptive bibliographic documentary design, not experimental. The objective of this bibliographic review was to relate the contribution of coagulation tests that help diagnose hemophilia in children and adolescents, respectively. The documentary review was based on the search for publications in different databases such as: Proquest, Scielo. PubMed, Index, Google Scholar, Medigraphic, Redalyc, Elsevier, in these publications the inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied, where 53 articles were selected for analysis, correlation and interpretation of the characteristics that coagulation tests present, the most common types common hemophilia and reference values. Severe hemophilia has a coagulation factor level of less than 1%, moderate with a level of 1 to 5%, and mild with a level between 5 and 40% of the coagulation factor. Most people with hemophilia have a prolonged activated partial thromboplastin time test while the thrombin and prothrombin time are within normal values. Keywords: Coagulation tests, hemophilia, thrombin time, reference values. |
