| description | In the vehicle registration area of the Directorate of Mobility, Transit, and Transportation of the GADM of Colta, the time that elapses to perform a procedure is high. This situation has generated that lately there is discomfort and complaints from users because of service delays. This research work was carried out to apply the Queue Theory study in the vehicle registration area of the Transit Mobility and Transportation Department of the GADM of Colta and evaluate the efficiency of the service. For the research development, the survey and observation were used as research techniques, in addition to the Queuing Theory models of one channel and multiple channels with Poisson arrivals and exponential service time. The survey results regarding the level of satisfaction showed that 54% were dissatisfied since the waiting time ranged from 1 to 2 hours. Based on the data obtained on arrival times and service time, it was determined that the one-channel model is inefficient and the multiple-channel model with two servers is optimal. Based on the results obtained from the survey application and the Queuing Theory, it is concluded that the system requires the addition of a channel for the service to be efficient and the waiting time to be reduced. |

Based on the results obtained from the survey application and the Queuing Theory, it is concluded that the system requires the addition of a channel for the service to be efficient and the waiting time to be reduced.En el área de matriculación vehicular de la Dirección de Movilidad Tránsito y Trasporte del GADM de Colta, el tiempo que trascurre al realizar un trámite es elevado y esto ha generado que últimamente existan malestar y reclamos por parte de los usuarios a causa de las demoras en la atención. El trabajo de investigación se realizó con el objetivo de aplicar el estudio de Teoría de Colas en el área de matriculación vehicular de la Dirección de Movilidad Tránsito y Trasporte del GADM de Colta y evaluar la eficiencia del servicio. Para el desarrollo de la investigación se utilizó como técnicas de investigación, la encuesta y la observación, además los modelos de la Teoría de Colas de un canal y múltiples canales con llegadas de Poisson y tiempo de servicio exponencial. Los resultados de la encuesta en cuanto al nivel de satisfacción demostraron que el 54% corresponde a insatisfechos ya que el tiempo de espera oscila entre 1 hora a 2 horas. Con los datos obtenidos los tiempos de llegada y el tiempo de servicio, se determinó que el modelo de un canal es ineficiente y el modelo de canales múltiples con 2 servidores es óptimo.
