Propuesta de regeneración paisajística para el dique de la parroquia Veracruz (Pastaza, Ecuador)

The following research focuses on revitalizing the dike in the parish of Veracruz, in the canton of Puyo, province of Pastaza, Ecuador. This dike, affected by various factors, has experienced progressive deterioration over time. Considering the importance of dikes and bathing areas as national tourist attractions, which have the potential to boost the local economy and energize the region, the need for innovative approaches to distinguish and enhance this dike compared to others in the Ecuadorian Amazon region is highlighted. The degree project “Proposal for the Landscape Regeneration of the Dike in the Parish of Veracruz” is not uniquely limited to tourism aspects but also comprehensively addresses the recovery of natural elements such as the secondary forest and the adjacent river. The river, impacted by pollution due to nearby settlements, is the subject of an environmental and water recovery strategy. The proposal also considers the potential impact of tourism on the river and plans measures to ensure that its use does not compromise its ecological quality. Landscaping plays a fundamental role in the relationship with bathing areas and dikes, encompassing key aspects in their planning, design, and management of surrounding outdoor spaces. Moreover, it is linked to conservation and sustainability, promoting practices that respect the natural environment and regenerate the quality of the landscape, to enhance visitors' experience by providing spaces for resting and enjoyment of the surroundings.
