| Zusammenfassung: | The objective of this research work was to establish the global index of neuropsychological maturity. Neuropsychological maturity is defined as the level of organization and maturational development that allows the development of cognitive and behavioral functions according to the chronological age of the subject (Urzúa et al., 2010). In this development process, the maturation of the central nervous system requires a sequence of more complex processes than other nervous structures, making this system particularly vulnerable to environmental influences, mainly during pre-school and school age. It is important to reiterate that the variable analyzed is essential within the school environment because it helps to know if there is adequate maturational development in children or if they need to reinforce those areas where there is less development that affects the performance of students. The research developed had a quantitative approach with a non-experimental design, of a basic type due to the level of descriptive scope, the field location, and the type of cross-sectional study. The psychometric technique was used and the instrument was the "Cumanes" School Neuropsychological Maturity Questionnaire. The sample was non-probabilistic and intentional and consisted of 27 third-grade students from the José María Román Freile Educational Unit. The results indicate that the students do not have adequate neuropsychological development according to their chronological age, since they obtained low scores in the tests, therefore, it affects their learning. For this reason, it is recommended that teachers include strategies in microcurricular planning that allow for adequate development |
