| Riassunto: | The present investigation was carried out with the objective of developing a semiotic analysis of the clothing of the quimiano chagra. The project was based on definitions of communication, semiology, social imaginary, among others. The applied methodology was descriptive, documentary, field, non-experimental, scientific, and inductive - deductive; with a population and sample established in 372 inhabitants between 15 and 60 years old, the techniques and instruments applied for data collection were surveys and interviews. The data collected at the end allowed the development of the conclusions and recommendations. The quimiano chagra maintains the customs and traditions that for years have been part of the cultural identity of the Químiag parish. The chagra is not a hobby; on the contrary,it is a lifestyle since the chagra is not only the character who rides a horse, who wears a poncho, coat, and hat, rather he is the character who works the land, the one who knowsperfectly animals. A chagra is identified by having a good horse, a good beta, and a dog.The dog defends, the guasca links up, and the horse runs. The clothing of the authentic chagra is more frequently evident in the Andean rodeos and in a general way when the rider, with the support of the horse and its accessories, goes up to the cold and dangerousmoorland to control the surly cattle, links in the chubs and with the beta is transported tothe pens. |
