| Sumari: | In the Autachi Educational Unit, where this research was carried out, the educational needs of the moment are not met with specific knowledge and skills, besides there is a lack of the development of new ways of thinking, in a responsible manner and related to the capacity of to emit good judgments, that is to say, that there is no thought in the students of the tenth grade of Basic Education. The objective of determining how the methodological guide of critical reading strategies influences the development of thought in the students of the tenth grade of Basic Education of the Autachi Educational Unit, Nitiluisa Community, Calpi Parish, Riobamba City, Chimborazo Province. Within the project methodology, the design is quasi - experimental due to the fact that the results were analyzed and exposed, and a hypothesis was proposed to contrast, there is no randomization of the students and there is no proper group. In this research the approach is quali-quantitative and represent a set of systematic, empirical and critical research processes and involves the collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data related to critical reading strategies for the development of thinking in students. The type of this research is descriptive because it involves observing and describing the behavior of the students of the tenth year of Basic Education of the Autachi Educational Unit. The population was 30 students of the aforementioned Educational Unit, taking the sample through an intentional non-probabilistic sampling where 13 men and 17 women were selected, students of the tenth grade A and B of the Autachi Educational Unit. The structured check list was applied by means of indicators related to the two study variables, that is, the strategies of critical reading through legends, narratives and stories, in order to collect the necessary information to analyze the problem raised in this research project. In conclusion it can be demonstrated that the elaboration and application of the methodological guide of critical reading strategies through legends, stories and narratives develop the thinking in the students of the tenth grade of Basic Education of the Autachi Educational Unit, observing in the evaluated parameters of analysis, inferences, comment, analyze, etc. A dissemination of this topic in the Institution and a training for teachers is recommended. |
