Resumo:ABSTRACT: The objective of this study was to evaluate the management of medical emergencies knowledge level of the dental students. The correlational, descriptive, and cross-sectional method was used. The evaluated population was made up of 100 students legally enrolled in clinics I and IV with a survey made up of 25 questions about the signs, symptoms, and clinical management of medical emergencies in the dental office where the results showed that 56% of the population studied has an unfavorable knowledge, where women got the higher percentage of correct questions in relation to men and with a favorable level the students of 20-24 years. When comparing the academic level between the clinics studied, we find that the students of Clinic IV present a greater number of correct questions respect to Clinic I, however, the statistical analysis shows that there is no significant difference, indicating that the level of knowledge is increasing. as the academic year progresses. These results contribute to present successful strategies to train students on the management of medical emergencies. Keywords: students, knowledge, emergency, dentistry.
