“La pertinencia de la carrera de idiomas de la facultad de Ciencias de la Educación, Humanas y Tecnologías de la Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo en el Distrito Educativo 1 Zona 3, Riobamba - Chambo, Periodo 2014-2015”

According to the Ley Organica de Educación Superior and Reglamento de Regimen Academico enacted by the Consejo de Educación Superior , all majors from Ecuadorian universities and polytechnic schools must enter into the process of curricular redesign .One of the majors is the Language career , from the Science Education faculty Unach. Taking into consideration that the fundamental element for curricular redesign is the relevance study ,the present work pretends to answer the question .Is the Language Career from Education Faculty of Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo in the Educational District 1, area 3, Riobamba –Chambo pertinent or not ?.In the referential framework the problem is described and the objectives and justification are set .The Theoretical Framework was based on the principles of the Ley de Educación Superior del Ecuador ,Reglamento de Regimen Academico, and the paper “The Curriculum if Higher Education from Systemic Complexity “ by Dr. Elizabeth Larrea which guides the basic concepts that should be considered for the relevance study of the Language career , its current situation in English Languages Career , whose data were tabulated , analyzed and interpreted using descriptive statistics. The result showed, the 58%of the respondent stated the requirement of 2 to 5 English language teachers in each Educational Institution. It was emphasized that Unach English teacher profile should be adapted to the needs of society .As a result , it is evident that Languages Career is relevant to the Educational District 1 Area 3, Riobamba –Chambo.
