Riassunto:The present research work, "Academic Motivation in Students of the Psych pedagogy Career at the National University of Chimborazo," aims to determine the level of motivation within its dimensions and scales in the students of the first and seventh semester of the Psych pedagogy career. From the National University of Chimborazo: The starting point was a literary investigation around the proposed variable, motivation, the same as that force that moves the human being to act. The impulse drives a person to execute an action and persist in it to finish it, becoming one of the primary factors in young people's personal, social, family, and school development. Methodologically, the research had a mixed approach; its design was nonexperimental, and the type of research was descriptive due to its scope, primary objectives, field location, and time; this research was transversal. The population is the students of the Psych pedagogy degree at UNACH, and the sample is intentionally non-probabilistic with first and seventh-semester students. The evaluation instrument that was applied to collect the data was the MAPE II Questionnaire created by Alonso Tapia, which consists of six scales: High capacity for work and performance, intrinsic motivation, ambition, anxiety inhibiting performance, and anxiety facilitating performance. Performance and laziness have three dimensions: Motivation for learning, motivation for the result, and fear of failure, which resulted in most students in the first and seventh semesters of the psych pedagogy degree presenting a level below the average within the scales and dimensions of motivation.
