| Summary: | The research started from the assumption that there is discrimination, that is, if there is some emphasis where inequality is exercised, and that distinction is unfair. This work determined the existence of labor discrimination in Ecuador towards the indigenous ethnic group, taking data from the National Survey of Employment, Unemployment, and Underemployment (ENEMDU) compiled by the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INEC). The interest of this study is to estimate the Mincer equation by dividing the population into two groups. Indigenous and non-indigenous to capture income, corrected for Heckman's selection bias to analyze the people's income with different levels of education, Oaxaca-Blinder methodology was applied to decompose wage gaps, to obtain wage discrimination. |
