Add Tag | Summary: | The objective of this research was to evaluate the nutritional status of children under 5 years of age in the Centro Infantil del Buen Vivir “Pequeños Tejedores”, a cross-sectional, descriptive study with a mixed approach was presented, for the selection of participants, exclusion criteria were considered and in this way the sample was conformed by 77 children of whom, 37 male and 40 female. For the evaluation of the nutritional status, a measurement guide was designed base on the diferent indicator: age, sex, weight, height and BMI, the data were processed in the ANTRHO system it was established by WHO and the revealed that according to the P/E indicator 71.4% of children were normal, 24.7% low weight risk, 2.6% underweight, 1.3% high weight risk, according to the T/E indicator, 24.7% of children were normal, 22.8% with short stature and finally, according to the P/T indicator, 71.4% showed normal, 24.7% risk of overweight, in conclusion the P/E was determined that the children in a percentage higher than half is normal, while the T/E the highest percentage was at risk of short stature, finally in the BMI/E children are in optimal conditions. SPSS version 22 was used for the statistics. A guide was prepared for parents of children in relation to the nutrition of infantil. |
