Resumo:The present research work arises from the identification of a problem of coexistence in the children of subinicial II of the Escuela Nueva de Octubre, which is why a solution is proposed from the academic point of view through the study of intelligence emotional and its contribution in the development of interpersonal relationships of human beings. To carry out this research, a methodology with a qualitative approach was used, of a descriptive type with a non-experimental design and a bibliographic level, the survey and observation technique was applied; As instruments, the questionnaire and the observation sheet were used to collect information. The main results obtained were to define emotional intelligence as a determining factor for the coexistence of children, in turn through the technique of observation it was possible to appreciate the levels of development of emotional intelligence and in this way propose strategies to improve the coexistence this population. The discussion arises in the existing discrepancies in the levels analyzed such as games, participatory classes and their reflection, and therefore it is verified that, in case of wanting to propose strategies, these should focus on the most deficient levels. Concluding that it is vital to contribute to the improvement of emotional intelligence since through this it will be possible to stimulate children to adapt them to a dynamic society, with an acceptable coexistence.
