The process begins with taking digital impressions of the patient's teeth using an intraoral scanner where three-dimensional images of the dental structure are obtained. CAD allows the design of the unitary fixed prosthesis through sophisticated software that consists of prosthetic parameters. ideals by adjusting the shape, size, and color in a three-dimensional image on the computer, the insertion of new biocompatible materials and the use of methods and techniques for processing enhance the mechanical, physical, and optical properties of each one, it is sent to a milling machine and a final personalized restoration is obtained, this last step is taken care of by the CAD software. The selection of ceramic materials for the processing of single fixed prostheses using the CAD CAM system evolve together, it is essential to update the advances in terms of the use of biomaterials and cementation procedures. The unitary fixed prosthesis manufactured through the technological system are functional, personalized, highly aesthetic, and durable restorations in the oral environment, providing the patient with greater quality and effectiveness in the execution of a dental treatment. Keywords: CAD/CAM, software, intraoral scanners, digitization, three-dimensional image, ceramics. |
