| 要約: | The objective of the present investigation was to determine the microbial load on removable partial prosthesis surface in Dental Care Unit at the National University of Chimborazo among patients who received a removable partial prosthesis change. The research was experimental and observational with a direct observation technique. A logbook was used as an instrument. The studied population consisted of 125 removable partial dentures of which 41 were selected. They met the selection criteria by an intentional and non-probabilistic sampling. The results showed that there was a large number of microorganisms on the surface of the removable partial dentures. The microorganisms present in large quantities in this study were Fungi (Candida Albicans) in 92.7% and Gram Cocci positive in 75%. The microorganisms that occurred less frequently were Gram-positive Bacilli in 4.9% and Gram- negative Bacilli in 2.4%. In addition to, the presence of a large number of colony-forming units where more than 10 million of them were found. It is concluded that there is a high level of contamination in the total samples taken from removable partial dentures belonging to patients who attend the Dental Care Unit of UNACH in both fungi, Gram positive bacilli and colony forming units. |
