總結: | ABSTRACT: Knee osteoarthritis is a disease that generates different degrees of disability secondary to articular cartilage damage. Therapeutic schemes are focused on alleviating the clinical manifestations of the disease; however, it is necessary to have therapeutic resources oriented to restore the biological balance of the disease; where the application of intraosseous plateletrich plasma could constitute an example to be used. The objective of this research was to carry out a bibliographic review to obtain updated information on the advantages offered by the intraosseous application of platelet-rich plasma in patients with a confirmed diagnosis of osteoarthritis. For this purpose, a basic, descriptive, and transversal research was carried out, consisting of a bibliographic review of documents published in the last five years. A total of sixty-two documents were identified, of which forty-one were used in the study. The information was obtained from regional databases (Latindex, Lilacs, Scielo and Redalyc) and high impact databases (Scopus, Medline, PubMed, and Ice Web of Sciencie). The main results include the description of the clinical and etiopathogenic characteristics of the disease; as well as the physiological mechanisms and advantages that can be expected from the application of intraosseous platelet-rich plasma. It is concluded that there is scientific and documentary evidence of the advantages offered by the application of this technique to treat patients with osteoarthritis of the knees; based on the control of the inflammatory process and stimulation of the articular cartilage repair mechanisms. Keywords: Articular cartilage; Rheumatic disease; Gonarthrosis; Osteoarthritis; Osteophytes; Platelet-rich plasma. |
