סיכום:Health is considered one of the essential elements in a country since it is considered that a healthy population will better contribute to economic growth. To take into account this research aims to measure the influence that health has on the economic growth of Ecuador in the period 1990-2020. A VAR model uses variables that measure health, life expectancy, infant mortality per 1,000 children, and hospital beds per 1,000 inhabitants. Conversely, economic growth is measured through the Gross Domestic Product per capita. The main results found in the research establish that there is a negligible influence of health indicators on GDP per capita. Additionally, there is only one-way causality from GDP per capita to life expectancy and infant mortality, not vice versa. The variable hospital beds did not turn out to be significant, explaining the economic growth.
