Samenvatting:During pregnancy complications can arise that are the cause of maternal, fetal and neonatal morbidity and mortality, they can be preventable or treatable; others may be present from before pregnancy, but are aggravated with pregnancy. With the aim of identifying nursing care in obstetric complications during the second half of pregnancy in the Gynecology and Obstetrics department of a Riobamba hospital in the period October 2019 - April 2020, a descriptive study was carried out, with a focus qualitative, cross-sectional, using the measurement technique through a structured assessment guide and validated by expert judgment. The data was collected and processed in the SPSS version 2.5 program. The population was made up of 28 nurses who comprise the entire population. As a result, it was obtained that the most frequent complications in the second half of pregnancy are: Threat of preterm delivery, preeclampsia, Premature rupture of membranes and previous placenta ; in addition, the most relevant nursing care in these pathologies are: control of vital signs, education on the importance of absolute rest and control of the fetal heart rate, in all pathologies; intake / elimination control and vasomotor signs control in patients with pre-eclampsia; control of trans-vaginal losses in premature rupture of membranes and previous placenta. In conclusion, the most frequent pathologies and specific nursing care were identified; In addition, a care plan was made as a proposal to care for patients with the complications described.
