Opis
Streszczenie:Dental trauma in primary dentition is an emergency to which the dentist is confronted in the dental office. Due to the fact that children at an early age do not have a fully developed motor system, they are prone to falls and blows. The aim of this literature review was to identify dental trauma in the primary dentition and its repercussions on both primary and permanent teeth. For this purpose, information was searched in scientific databases such as Google Scholar, PubMed, Elsevier, Research, Scielo, Science Direct, Scopus, taking into account research from the last ten years. The articles were selected based on the criteria of exclusion, inclusion, filters, average citation count (ACC), impact factor of the journal publishing the article through Scimago Journal Ranking (SJR), obtaining a total of 57 academic-scientific publications. The results showed that the main dental traumas presented by children are crown fracture with pulp involvement and without pulp involvement, as well as dislocations were found as dental traumas at the level of the periodontal ligament. In addition, sequelae were found that affect the pulp tissue such as pulp necrosis and at the level of the periodontal ligament dental mobility was one of the most mentioned consequences. As sequelae in permanent teeth, alterations in the mineralization of the dental pieces were found, such as enamel hypoplasia, and dilacerations of the root and crown of the permanent piece were also found as recurrent sequelae.
