| 總結: | Introduction: Cellulitis is an acute, infectious, and inflammatory process, generally of bacterial origin with dermo-epidermal involvement. It is caused mainly by Gram-positive bacteria. The affected area generally manifests with edema, pain, and erythema, its most frequent location in the lower limbs. Its diagnosis is based primarily on the clinic since there is no gold standard for this pathology, which is why its treatment is primarily empirical and ambulatory. Objectives: To determine the clinical-epidemiological characteristics of patients with cellulite at the Carlos Andrade Marín Specialty Hospital from 2021 to 2022. Material and methods: The focus of this research project is a descriptive, cross-sectional, non-experimental study in order to determine the clinical-epidemiological characteristics of patients with cellulitis belonging to the infectious disease service of the Carlos Andrade Marín Hospital in the period September 2021-August 2022. Results: Cellulite has a higher incidence in male patients between 56-65 years old, manifesting mainly with edema, pain, heat, and erythema, mainly affecting the lower limbs. Its diagnosis is purely clinical, but additional tests such as ultrasound, wound culture, and blood culture can be performed to rule out other diseases and identify the causative agent. The main microorganisms responsible for the infection are Gram-positive bacteria, so the antibiotic is directed against these bacteria for a recommended period of 6-10 days. Conclusions: A statistical analysis of cellulitis in the infectious disease department allowed them to know their patients' reality and identify the main scheme used based on ampicillin + sulbactam. |
