Calidad de vida y depresión en el adulto mayor no institucionalizado. Centro de Salud N°3. Riobamba, 2022

ABSTRACT The objective of this research was to analyze the quality of life and the relationship with depression in non-institutionalized older adults from the N.3 health center in the city of Riobamba. The quality of life is a state that generates satisfaction in people; however, there are physical, biological, emotional and social factors that come to generate depressive symptoms. Methodologically, it had a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental design, of a documentary, bibliographical and cross-sectional type, with a correlational and descriptive level; the study methods were theoretical, statistical, empirical and hypothetical; The population is made up of 91 clinical data taken from an anonymous database provided by the institution, with a choice based on the inclusion criteria, the study technique was a content analysis where a data record sheet obtained from the patients was made. Psychometric Test, Whoqol-old Quality of Life Questionnaire, in which it was identified that 35% have a slightly bad level; on the Yesavage Geriatric Depression Scale, 48% had established depression. Thus reaching the conclusion that the existence of a correlation between the dimensions of quality of life with depression in non-institutionalized older adults of the health center N.3 of the city of Riobamba was evidenced, it is relevant to consider the vulnerability and economic stability of older adults, as well as loneliness and fear of facing death, which has developed depressive symptoms.
