Shrnutí:This project was carried out with the objective of characterizing the ancestral agricultural practices in force in the Cacha parish, which have been applied since ancient times, being transmitted from generation to generation. Within this framework, it is interesting to know the ancestral knowledge applied in agriculture and its impact on the quality of the products obtained, in order to propose strategies that allow potentiating production. The quantitative-qualitative, nonexperimental work was carried out in the Huagshi community, belonging to the Cacha parish, Riobamba canton, Chimborazo province; where through field research and the application of information gathering techniques such as surveys, The results show that the tendency of the farmers of the Huagshi community is the application of ancestral agricultural techniques in the cultivation of cereals and vegetables, in addition; it was demonstrated that the products obtained meet quality criteria, such as smell, healthy, clean, appearance, whole seed, clean, color and degree of maturity. Finally, a proposal is made aimed at strengthening production so that cereals and vegetables can be marketed in other markets.
