Beskrivelse
Summary:The condition of a pavement includes physical and mechanical variables that were present during its construction or that have developed over time due to its location. The evaluation of these characteristics was carried out using electrical and mechanical equipment, which objectively determined its infiltration level—a factor linked to the macrotexture of the surface (Mendoza, 2020). In situ tests, such as the Sand Patch test, allowed for the assessment of surface texture, an important parameter that correlates with infiltration level. Additionally, modern electrical equipment was used to determine the stiffness modulus of the evaluated pavement layers. Using correlation equations, a low bearing capacity (CBR) of the base and subbase layers was quantitatively confirmed (Arévalo & Maila, 2025). Pavement deterioration is often caused by improper aggregate placement, which leads to increased or severe infiltration. This hydraulic characteristic was also quantified using mechanical equipment, such as the double-ring infiltrometer, which measured an average infiltration rate of 11.33%. The relationship among geological, physical, and mechanical characteristics indicates a low level of conditioning in the studied pavement.
