Тойм:The research entitled, Development of Interculturality through the comprehensive reading, is inserted in the field of specific didactics of Language and Literature; it specifically explores the theoretical foundations of comprehensive reading, as a didactic strategy applied to the development of interculturality, through the application of didactic resources that value the legends and traditions of the Chimboracense and Ecuadorian context. It was carried out under a Phenomenological and Holistic Dialectic approach, using as a main technique the scientific observation of the subjects of study, which, for that matter, are the girls of the second year of basic education of the María Auxiliadora educational unit. After a diagnosis, the empirical evidence visualizes a problematic referring to the ignorance of the interculturality and weaknesses in the comprehension reading. The research contributes with a didactic booklet with selected legends and traditions, grouped in two blocks: the first, aims to strengthen the dialogue of knowledge inside and outside the educational context, with the use of pictograms or images referring to the legends; the second block aims to strengthen teamwork skills, as well as develop an intercultural awareness, which is evidenced in the improvement of interpersonal relationships between students belong to different cultures. Using expert criteria, it is concluded that the proposal complies with pedagogical-didactic parameters that guarantee its applicability in local and national educational contexts, in pre-reading, literacy and comprehension reading children.
