Sumario:This research, titled “Grammatical Skills in the Enrichment of Written Expression in Ninth-Grade Students at the Dr. Emilio Uzcátegui Educational Unit,” aims to analyze the effectiveness of various strategies for developing grammatical skills and their impact on enhancing written expression. The study was conducted in a rural educational setting in Chimborazo, Ecuador, with a predominantly indigenous student population from the Puruhá nationality, where a diglossia between Kichwa and Spanish is observed. A quantitative, descriptive approach was employed to assess and interpret the students' grammatical proficiency. Data collection methods included surveys and direct observation. The findings indicate a significant correlation between grammatical skills and the enhancement of written expression, underscoring the importance of educational strategies centered on grammar instruction. In conclusion, the study suggests that reinforcing grammatical skills is essential for improving students' written communication, emphasizing the need for a more structured pedagogical framework in this area.
