Riassunto:ABSTRACT This study analyzed students who received a scholarship at Chimborazo Polytechnic college. The aim was to assess the dominant dimensions of personality and internet addiction in this group of college students. This research is described as a field study, with a non-experimental design at a descriptive and correlational design, with a population of 200 students, 72 men, and 128 women. A sociodemographic survey, the Big Five questionnaire, and the Internet addiction test were applied for data collection. Results suggest that the dominant dimension in university students at an average level is emotional stability 50.5% of the population. There was no evidence of a severe level of internet addiction, with responses remaining average 45%, mild 31%, and moderate 24%. A negative correlation between these variables was found; that is to say, the lower the level at which the personality dimensions are present, the greater the possibility of developing an Internet addiction. Keywords: Personality, internet addiction, university students. Reviewed by: MsC. Adriana Cundar Ruano, PhD. ENGLISH PROFESSOR c.c. 1709268534 .
