Crynodeb:A descriptive, observational, cross-sectional and mixed-nature researching was carried out, the objective of the study was characterize women at risk of alteration of the fetal-maternal dyad due to premature rupture of membranes and care needs, attended in the gynecology and obstetrics service, of the Hospital Provincial General Docente Riobamba, November 2018-February 2019. The incidence of the pathology is 1.6 to 21% of births and concerns obstetric complications related to maternal-perinatal morbidity and mortality, this is why nursing professional care is essential, because it generates total or partial dependence on the mother. The population will be constituted by 61 pregnant women suffering from the pathology, who will work on collecting data with the interview guide, document review and covert observation. The information was processed in Google, Excel and SPSS forms where results were obtained: Most outstanding sociodemographic factors: rural area, married, secondary education, young adults, mestizas, housewives who remain standing for six to ten hours. Clinical: normal weight, urinary infections, therapeutic regimen. Obstetric: insufficient prenatal controls, deficient consumption of vitamin C, oligohydramnios. Related factors: Limited use of corticosteroids, glucose mostly unchanged, no compromise of fetal oxygen transport. Care needs; nursing care was never performed in relation to the categories: they listened carefully, clearly explained the instructions to follow. Regarding the domains, the nursing staff never pay attention to: health promotion, self-perception, coping / tolerance to stress and safety / protection.
