Résumé:This research due to observe and describe whether in the eighth year "B" of the Education Unit "Dr. Emilio Uzcategui " at the Cebadas parish, the English teacher applies games to motivate students and help in the development of listening and speaking skills, for this an ethnographic method based on real observation of the research problem was applied, also an observation guide, which contained indicators of metacognitive and affective strategies, that help to check how often games are applied. After observing and applying the observation guide, it was evident that the teacher always practices games as a communicative activity to develop listening and speaking skills, but lack of knowledge and of course the time was not enough to develop appropriate games for each topic. Finally each student was analyzed and described according to their development during the game
