Abordaje de enfermería en el confort del paciente pediátrico oncológico.

The main objective of this research study was to examine information from scientific sources on the nursing approach to the comfort of the pediatric oncology patient. Comfort is an individualized approach according to the pathological needs; it deals with communication factors and emotional, social, and spiritual problems of these children. For the development of this work, the prism method was used, selecting reliable sources of information related to health, with inclusion and exclusion criteria. In addition, the PICO method was used to determine the question to be developed and the categories to be evaluated, which are shown in the triangulation. The results highlight the categories studied, such as pain, mental health, environment, physical and physiological changes, growth, development, and the family, highlighting specific care for these patients such as nonpharmacological activities that generate comfort in the child, with the use of technology, didactic material, play techniques, empathic and humanistic communication. The conclusion was that the nursing approach is achieved thanks to the different interventions mentioned that will help them to feel safe, loved and comforted with the attention provided by the nursing staff, creating a bond of trust throughout their treatment.
