Тойм:Respiratory physiotherapy is based on methods, techniques, procedures, and instruments used in various diseases, especially those related to the lungs or the respiratory system. These diseases can be chronic or arise because of a critical state of other pathologies, such as cancer and COVID-19 or Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS). It has been essential in critical cases as it aims to prevent, treat, and stabilize existing respiratory alterations, ultimately restoring and optimizing respiratory function. This research project aimed to describe respiratory physiotherapy treatments in managing Guillain-Barré Syndrome as part of a rehabilitation process. This was carried out through a literature review, and this article reviews the fundamentals and most important techniques of respiratory physiotherapy, as well as the importance of including it in the recovery process of GBS patients. Results: The relationship between GBS patients and the development of respiratory problems during their stay in the ICU and even after discharge was observed, confirming the benefits of respiratory physiotherapy as part of rehabilitation for fatigue, respiratory muscle involvement, or in patients who had to undergo mechanical ventilation. Conclusion: This project demonstrates that GBS can lead to serious respiratory problems, as it affects the peripheral nervous system and can weaken respiratory muscles, showing that timely attention, respiratory monitoring, and appropriate intervention are crucial to ensure the health recovery of a patient with GBS.
