| الملخص: | Fecal incontinence or accidental intestinal leakage is the involuntary loss or lack of control of the evacuation of solid, liquid or gas feces through the anus, affecting the elderly, due to the physical and emotional deterioration that the human being experiences over the years, syndrome that is highly prevalent. The optimal treatment for fecal incontinence in older adults is the application of sacral root neuromodulation, allowing feedback of anatomical and physiological structures involved in the alteration with acute or chronic conditions, improving signs and symptoms. The research was developed through a bibliographic review, the main objective is to analyze the effects of sacral root neuromodulation as a physiotherapeutic technique to determine the most appropriate protocol for this type of patient. The study was carried out by collecting 83 scientific articles included in the filtering and pre-analysis process that can be found in the flowchart, including a total of 35 articles selected from scientific bases such as: Elsevier, Pubmed; Scielo, Redaluc, PEDro and Science Direct using the inductive method, allowing analysis from the particularity of the variables investigated; trying to establish evident results from the premises and accompanied by a documentary design due to the variability of information found, concluding that the sacral root neuromodulation application helps to reduce leakage in relation to solid and liquid feces; improving the anatomical and physiological functionalities of the pelvic floor. |
