Summary:Public spaces and green areas in cities play a fundamental role in the coexistence and development of the people who live there, guaranteeing a better quality of urban life, allowing spontaneous and free encounters, promoting social, cultural, and economic interaction. These spaces have even more value when their compositional elements allow human beings to interact with natural elements, because these, in addition to the fact that their conservation is clearly beneficial for the planet, by purifying the air, protecting the natural soil, reducing climate change, allowing the development of various habitats and being home to many species of fauna and flora, have a great influence on the welfare of people, allowing them to generate activities of rest, relaxation and fun. These requirements are materialized through the design and projection of infrastructures that meet the requirements and enhance the qualities that the different places possess, making architecture become the tangible bridge of connection between human beings, their environment and the natural environment. In the specific case of the “Paseo Turístico del Río Puyo”, the uses it has taken over the years have not been able to consolidate this transcendental urban green facility within the city, causing certain sections of the same route to fail to meet the needs and requirements of pedestrian users, diminishing its value and natural appreciation, generating unsafe, abandoned, improvised or deteriorating spaces. In response to all these factors, it is our collective responsibility to propose spaces for development, encouraging a sense of belonging and identity, promoting social, cultural and economic activities, respecting the natural environment and the life that inhabits it, implementing spaces where nature is the protagonist and architecture the means of enjoyment, satisfying present needs, but without compromising future ones. In short, the following document seeks to propose alternatives for urban development and implementation of new architecture within this specific space, going through a previous analysis of all the relevant factors of the city, extracting important professional criteria, proposing design strategies, to finally select and project different architectural facilities.
