Izvleček:The present research aims to determine the concentration of sedimentable particulate material in the Industrial Park of Riobamba city, an area that over the years has been declining its business sector where several companies have had to emigrate to other cities, but some remain until now in their production. There is concern on the part of the authorities and the inhabitants due to the business activities that exist in this sector, affecting the health of the people who live in said area. These companies in activity dedicated to the manufacture of lime, concrete mixers, sawmills, auto mechanics, mineral shot processing, crushing of natural stone (marble), welding, etc., For this study, 14 sampling points established in the entire area of the Industrial Park in a random and strategic way in order to cover the entire area as much as possible, the passive method for sampling applied, which consists of placing Petri dishes in the sampling equipment in a 30-day period (April-May), which subsequently analyzed in the laboratory to identify the amount of sedimentable particulate material, in addition to this, geographic information systems (GIS) used through data from four nearby meteorological stations to Identify the speed and direction of the wind in said sector and thus be able to make a comparison of the values and have more exact data also based on the weather conditions. Finally, the results obtained show that the points with the greatest contamination are evidently in the area of the companies in activity, resulting in that the points with the highest concentration levels are 6, 10, 4, 9, 7, 12 and exceed the permissible levels exposed by the WHO and TULSMA regulations.
