Sažetak:The purpose of this research work is to determine the relationship between overprotection and the language of the students of the second year of Basic General Education of the Educational Unit "José María Román"; March-August 2019 period. The research variables were analyzed and supported; Overprotection is the excessive care of parents towards their children, while language is the ability to relate to society, with the respective conceptual theoretical foundation, with their different perspectives. This research has a quantitative approach, its design is non-experimental and its type of research is correlational; for the time it is transversal and basic, while for the place it is of field, while the population was the students of the Educational Unit “José María Román” with its respective sample, not probabilistic and intentional, with its adequate techniques and psychometric instruments ; To measure overprotection was the “Parental Bonding Instrument” (PBI) test and a developmental escalation for young children (Reynell) was applied for the language. It was possible to demonstrate that there are overprotective characteristics by determining by means of the analysis that effectively affects the language, there is a correlation of the variables, which allows to establish that the greater the overprotection the less the development of the language and the opposite, the less overprotection the greater the development of the language, according to the results obtained from the statistical program SPSS.
