| Резюме: | ABSTRACT Inguinal hernia is one of the most frequent pathologies in general surgery, affecting mainly the male sex, which can be diagnosed and resolved early through laparoscopic TAPP and TEP hernioplasty, this is one of the least invasive procedures and with fewer complications. Objective: To determine the postoperative complications that occur in laparoscopic inguinal hernioplasty at the IESS General Hospital in Riobamba in the period 2019-2020. Material and methods: Descriptive, retrospective and cross-sectional study in patients diagnosed with inguinal hernia and treated surgically with laparoscopic inguinal hernioplasty (TAPP and TEP). For this research, an analysis of the clinical records of the IESS General Hospital located in Riobamba was carried out. Results: The universe studied for this research project corresponded to a total of 48 patients, from which it was determined that 75% are male and 25% female. Regarding the type of procedure applied in the study, right PET herniolap represents the type of surgery that was most frequently applied during our study with 52% covering 25 patients of the 48 to bilateral PET herniolap with 25%, left PET herniolap with 19%, followed by right and bilateral TAPP herniolap with 6% and 4% respectively. Finally, in postoperative complications, most patients did not present complications, represented by 83% of the total population, while 17% presented pain at the surgical site, followed by right scrotal edema with 10% and bilateral scrotal edema with 6%, the patients in our study had a shorter hospital stay of 1 to 2 days, with a better recovery prognosis and fewer complications. Conclusion: In the development of this study, it is evidenced that there is a minimum percentage of postoperative complications using laparoscopic inguinal hernioplasty for the correction of inguinal hernia, demonstrating that it is a less invasive and safer procedure that can be applied within the field of general surgery. Keywords: Inguinal hernia, TEP herniolap, TAPP herniolap, complications. Reviewed by: Mgs. Geovanny Armas Pesántez ENGLISH PROFESSOR C.C. 0602773301 |
